Kuala Lumpur, 26 September 2022 – The LEGO Group announces the return of its Rebuild the World Campaign to champion family playtime and encourage children to be creative innovators of tomorrow. This year, The LEGO Group invites families to increase social playtime between parents and children to strengthen familial ties and cultivate creative problem solving through an interactive LEGO Young Rebuilders Playdate session that will be held on 9 October 2022 or participate in the LEGO Young Rebuilders Challenge from the comfort of their homes.

Increasing family playtime one brick at a time

The LEGO Group’s Rebuild the World Campaign aims to facilitate playtime among parents and children through building and rebuilding with LEGO bricks. According to the LEGO Global Play Well Study 20221, 95% of parents in Malaysia say that play increases their family’s happiness and helps build strong family bonds. However, 84% of children in Malaysia wish that they could play more with their parents. 90% of parents in Malaysia believe that LEGO play strengthens family bonds and helps to develop creativity among children. This is why this year’s campaign will include the launch of the LEGO Young Rebuilders Playdate for children and parents to come together and express their creative freedom through social play with LEGO bricks.

To kickstart the journey towards increased family playtime, families can sign up for interactive LEGO Young Rebuilders Playdate sessions co-hosted by paediatrician Dr Ng Yi-Ki (@dryikis_crib) and TV Host, Actor, and Parent, Nazrudin Habibur Rahman (@nazrudinrahman) on 9 October from 11am – 12.30pm or 2pm – 3.30pm at Mum N Kids Club Preschool and Art Studio. Join The LEGO Group for a fun-filled play date that encourages family playtime and creative problem-solving through building and rebuilding with LEGO bricks! Kindly note that slots are limited to 20 parent-child pairs per session and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Solve everyday problems and #RebuildtheWorld with LEGO bricks

Families can continue their play dates from home too! From a LEGO bookend that stops books from falling over, to a LEGO stationery holder that keeps a messy desk tidy, there are endless ways to solve everyday problems with LEGO bricks! Take part in the LEGO Young Rebuilders Challenge between 26 September and 31 October by sharing an image of your child’s LEGO creation on Instagram with a caption explaining how it solves an everyday problem along with the tags and hashtags (@LEGO #RebuildtheWorld #LEGOYoungRebuildersSG #LEGOYoungRebuildersMY).
