English Champ Writing Competition 2020

Event Description

ELIGIBILITY
– There is no fee requirement.
– The competition is open from now until the deadline on 31 August 2020
– Only one entry per writer is allowed.
– Entries must be in English only.
– The competition is open to these categories.

• Category A: 13 to 15 years old (as of 31 December 2020)
• Category B: 10 to 12 years old (as of 31 December 2020)
• Category C: 7 to 9 years old (as of 31 December 2020)

– The length of the entries must be according to the categories.

• Category A: 500 – 600 words
• Category B: 300 – 400 words
• Category C: 200 -300 words

ENTRY FORMAT
– Writers must include their full names, age, category and school.
– Entries must be in Microsoft attachment, Times New Roman font and size 12.
– Entries must be submitted online and emailed to info@englishchamp.com.my with the subject as ENGLISH CHAMP WRITING COMPETITION 2020

JUDGING
– Entries must be relevant to the topic ‘An Extraordinary Day of a Non-Villain Zombie’, in the form of a narrative writing.
– Entries must be original and by the writer himself/herself and have not been used elsewhere.
– The judges’ decision is final.

PRIZES FOR EACH CATEGORY
Grand Prize: One scholarship for a session of Champ Writers Workshop of two months which can be done face-to-face or online.

First Prize: Wireless Bluetooth earphone buds (Category A and B); Story book (Category C)
Second and Third Prizes: Story book

WINNERS
– The winners will be announced on 30 September 2020 on English Champ website, Kiddy123.com and Facebook.
– Prizes will be awarded on 17 October 2020 at English Champ.
– Winning entries will become the property of English Champ and may be published in print or electronically.
