Blastful Weekend for KL Kids

Knock-knock! It’s Mr. Weekend again! He’s here to clear away the rust for your whole week? Are you and your children prepared to welcome him with the warmest greeting?

Here are some suggested places that you can have a blast with your children spending quality weekend’s time in KL!

a)    Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

Perhaps what your children need the most is a hearty shout!  How about letting them to swirl and twirl in Sunway Lagoon?

Priding itself as Malaysia’s premier theme park, the 80-acred Sunway Lagoon consists of five main sections, namely Water Park, Amusement Park, Wildlife Park, Extreme Park, and Scream Park. Of all, the Waters of Africa in the Water Park is the most suitable for both you and your children. Get them either to dive down the six-laned Congo Challenge or set them loose at Little Zimbabwe, the interactive water playground. Can children enjoy both? Sure, by all means! 

Besides, the Wild Wild West in Amusement Park offers your young ones plenty of excitement through the tamer rides like Buffalo Bill Coaster, Chief Crazy Horse Carousel and the Grand Canyon River Rapids, not to mention the arcade games there.

If you and your children are born thrill seeker, then Extreme Park will most probably be the place you can’t afford to miss. Paintball guns, drive quad bikes, race Go-Karts and perhaps Flying Fox are some of the strategy games that will give you adrenaline rush. Wildlife Park is also another option for you to get your children closer to nature.  Let them enjoy with the cuddly and not-so-cuddly creatures in real life- not through books momentarily!

b)   Desa Water Park

If you are looking a nearer water park within Kuala Lumpur, Desa Water Park will be the one! Filled with various slides, tubes and even “rivers”, this water parks will bring you and your children will ultimate splashing experience.  Among all the attractions found in there, the ones that your young ones can’t afford to miss are “Surf Shack”, “Water Factory”, “Clown A Round”, “Pink Slide” and “Action River”.

“Surf Shack” is a children’s water playground with a tropical slides launcher. In “Water Factory”, your children can get to shoot water to all surrounding spots- with just a press. Besides, they can also get to slide into clown’s body in “Clown A Round” section. As for “Pink Slide”, it is a section in which there are multiple slides for them to play- if you find that the slides in normal playground can’t satisfy them. On the other hand, if you are looking for more thrills-that are SAFER-then you may give “Action River” a try. You won’t be able to resist the invigorating sensation of water falling upon you!

c)    Shah Alam Wet World Water Park

Worried that water park is dangerous for your young ones due to the water level? Cast this worry when you come to the Shah Alam Wet World Water Park- which is renowned as a child-friendly park since the water is not more than one meter deep.

Perhaps the greatest thrill that you and your children should try is the Monsoon Buster ride, which pulls you away from the gravity. Besides, your children will also enjoy the yellow submarine at the supervised activity areas. Fountain of Youth, Cascading Waterfalls, Neptune Challenge, Atlantis City, Big Splash, Lighthouse Escape, Tunnel Water Slide, and Treasure Island are some other attractions that you can visit as well!

d)   Megakidz Funland and Edutainment

Try to arrange a fun and meaningful day for your children at Megakidz Funland and Edutainment! This centre consists of an aviation play system, air bouncer, small cinema, toddlers’ corner, and cafeteria. Apart from the Asia’s biggest, sophisticated aviation play system equipped with tall slides and pop-up play helicopter, this centre also consists of a small cinema which can provide small movie screenings for as many as 50 children. Besides, there is a toddler’s corner, in which houses relatively smaller-scaled play system- which assists in children’s development.

If you want to shop without any fuss, then “Drop & Shop” program is strongly recommended to you! The reason being, there will be professional guardians to supervise your little ones, while there are plenty of fun to keep them occupied!

Prefer some less vigorous outdoor activities? Then come to Mines Wonderland, which is famous for the variety of fun and exciting rides, of which Wa Wa Splash Duck Tour is the one of the most popular rides. Together with your family, you can have a 45-minute ride on the lakes at the Resort City.  Don’t forget to hop on the water taxi that will bring you on a cruise along the 150-acred lake. Enjoy the picturesque view of the surrounding, and you’ll get hooked on the beauty of slow pace.

 On top of that, there is also a mini zoo featuring rare white Bengal tigers and other kinds of animals such as peacock, swans and goats. Also, do indulge yourselves in the snowy white delight in Snow House, which is rather popular among children.

However, don’t miss the Musical Fountain at the Amphitheatre. Get mesmerized by the graceful dance of water in the air along with the rhythm of music and permeation of light into the surrounding.  There are two shows per day at night. So, arrange your time properly in order for you to enjoy all the attractions.

f)     Kidzania Kuala Lumpur
